Trifle WEEKEND!

My hunny turned 40 this past weekend!!  His favorite is Strawberry Shortcake.  He would rather have salty chips, but if he has to eat a dessert, it HAS to be Strawberry Shortcake!!!  Last year I made him Strawberry Shortcake cupcakes; check out the cupcake section for the recipe!!  SO this year, I wanted it to be a little quicker, so I thought of the trifle bowl!  You just dump everything in there!!  For the Shortcake, I baked poundcake and crumbled the cooled cake in the bowl.  The strawberry's, I soaked in water and alot of sugar.  My hunny likes ALOT of strawberry juice.  I added cool whip and sliced strawberries.  Very simple but it's what he wanted!

Strawberry Shortcake Trifle
  • pound cake, cooled and cut in pieces
  • strawberries, soaked in water and sugar
  • sliced strawberries
  • cool whip
Just layer the way you want it.  I didn't add all the juiced strawberries so the hunny could add some extra juice and berries to his portion.  It's good to have a side of berries.

YUMMMM, chocolate!!  This was for the kids and their friends!  YUM!!!
Chocolate Trifle
  • Baked and cooled brownies, cut in pieces
  • Baked and cooled pound cake, cut in pieces
  • chocolate pudding
  • cool whip
  • chocolate chips
Just add the layers the way you want!!!!!!

Happy Baking and Happy EATING!!!!

  1. Hey Girl-
I saw your strawberry shortcake trifle and just loved it :) Can't wait to make it for my daughter's 3rd bday party. We are doing a Strawberry shortcake theme. I pinned it onto pinterest under the catecory birthday ideas. It exploded on that site. I got 144 likes and 458 repins and still counting. All this in just a matter of a couple of days. Just thought you should know that the world of pinterest loves your trifle. And I did give credit to you so I'm sure lots of people will be looking at your blog.

    Take care,
    Jenny

  5. Kudos to you for the recipe- made it today. Not too sweet nor to thick/custardy. The right consistency for a hot summer afternoon.
Loved it- took it to a get together and it was gone in just a few minutes. Thanks a bunch for sharing! :)
